John Adam Cooper, age 93, of Studio City, California, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 20, 2020 in the Windsor Gardens Health Care Center in North Hollywood. John was born on June 23, 1927 to Homer and Gertie (Kennedy) Cooper in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He married Anita M. Erikson in 1958 in Las Vegas, Nevada and she survives.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army as a military policeman while stationed in France during World War II. After being discharged from the service, he worked as a supervisor for a soda distribution company throughout Southern California and Arizona.
John was a very talented singer and actor, starring in many plays in Hollywood and several minor roles in motion pictures. In addition to his wife Anita, John is survived by one son, Nigel Adam Cooper of Studio City, CA; one granddaughter, Emily A. Roegge (Mathew) of Quincy, IL; four nephews, Alex Langley (Alisa) of Minnesota, Tom Cooper of Montana, Steve Cooper (Sandy) and Tim Cooper, both of Big Bear, CA; and one niece, Candace Cooper of Big Bear, CA.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Volietta “Bo”, Ted, June, and Bob.
The Cooper family would like to thank Mari, Yasamin, Stephanie, Colleen, and the rest of the wonderful staff from Providence Trinity Palliative Care for their kindness and compassion for John during the last several years of his life.
Cremation has been accorded to John. A private family service with military honors will take place at Riverside National Cemetery at a later date.
