Steve Smith

Steve Causey Smith, age 51, of Studio City, California, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Sherman Oaks Hospital. Born and raised in Roxboro, North Carolina. Steve graduated from Person Senior High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1985.
Steve had a successful career as a news producer working for ABC Channel 11 in Durham, NC; ABC Channel 6 in Philadelphia, PA; and most recently as a Senior Line Producer for CBS Channel 2 in Los Angeles. In addition to his career in broadcast journalism, Steve also managed the careers of multiple high-profile singers and actors through his company CTMG.
Steve was always concerned about others and went out of his way to ensure those around him were at ease, which made him a great friend, colleague and person who will be missed by all who had the fortune of knowing him.
Steve was predeceased by his father Charles Causey (John) Smith, a WWII Navy veteran, and his mother Eva Mae Humphries Smith. Steve will be laid to rest beside her within their family plot at Birchwood Cemetery in Roxboro, NC.
A memorial service is set for this Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 4pm - 7pm at Angeleno Mortuary located at 5948 Van Nuys Boulevard in Van Nuys, CA 91401.
